Story Elements Song

This week we have continued to compare fiction and non-fiction text.  We are learning to identify each type of text by its text features. We have learned this song to help us remember the features of a fiction text. We hope you enjoy it!

Springtime Fun!

We have not had much spring weather to enjoy...so today we moved our math lesson outside!  We used sidewalk chalk to help us solve some math facts and took turns blowing bubbles for a little brain break!  Click here to view: Springtime Fun!

Field Trip!

Thanks to our many volunteers on the field trip to Red Barn Farm!  We saw a lot of cool farm animals and learned a little about each one! It was a beautiful day for a field trip!

Choosing Just Right Books



Some books are too small, some are too big, and others are JUST RIGHT!

If you have recently noticed your kindergartener holding up fingers while reading, there is a good reason for it!  He or she is trying to determine if the book they are reading is a good fit or a just right book!  A just right book is a book that challenges them to use some of their reading strategies,  and is one that they can understand, share their thinking and enjoy reading!  Ask your child to tell you more about just right books!
