Mapping our World!

We wrapped up our map unit with a fun little project!  We got to make a map of the PB playground.  We camped out on the blacktop for a bird's eye view!  We had the opportunity to experience directionality as we all started out facing north and drawing what we saw.  In addition, we created a map key to help make our map more meaningful.

Writer's Workshop

I am frequently told by my kids that writing workshop is their favorite time of the day!!  They love to write and their ideas never cease to amaze me.

This week we have been learning to research a topic and use the information gleaned to write a nonfiction book. 

I made this short video because I was so impressed with their level of engagement and I wanted to share it with you.
