Kindergarten Connection

Math and Science
In math we are hard at work learning to count in the teens!  We are also working on using ten-frames to count and are learning to match up numbers with the correct number of objects.  In science, we learned all about fire safety, and even had a visit from the firemen!

Reading and Writer’s Workshop
  We have been working hard on reviewing our letter sounds and rhyming words.  We have also been working on labeling our pictures and spelling out words by writing the sounds that we hear.  We are learning to identify the character in a story and the difference between fiction and nonfiction books.  Finally, we have introduced the site word “can”.  So far we have introduced the following site words; the, see, like, go, I, a, can. 

Don’t Forget

·        To write your student’s name in all coats, hats, and gloves that you send to school.

·        To sign communication log and to mark lunch choices

·        October book logs are due on Wednesday, 10/31

Face Painting

On Wednesday, October 31^st, student council will be offering face painting during lunch for $1.  All proceeds will go towards breast cancer research.
